Robert Strobel
Of Prospect Heights

Robert Strobel was born June 7, 1927 to James Richard and Helen (nee Jarmen) Strobel in Marion, Ohio. He died April 26, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Strobel served in the Navy during WWII and he attended the Ohio State University on the G.I. bill, where he also played football. In 1966 he founded Prospect Airport Services and built a national airline services company employing over 4000 people. He and his wife also founded the Robert and Mary Strobel Scholarship Fund, which offers financial aid to Prospect Airport Services employees wishing to further their education.

Robert is survived by his wife Mary (nee Belt) whom he married March 17, 1951; his children Vicki (Doug Glover) Strobel, Marcia (Ernie) Williams, Michael (Veronica) Strobel, Robert Jr. (Shala) Strobel, Nancy (Jim) Jones, King (Aneta) Strobel and Patti (Earnie) Bailey; his grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Becky, B.J., Nicole, Melissa, Barbara, Mary Beth, Sarah, Adam, Valarie, Robert, Christine, John and Jamie; his great grandchildren Raina, Gavin and Kairi; his brother David (Delores) Strobel and by his faithful dog Molly.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial visitation Tuesday April 29, 2008 from 4 until 8 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment Private.
