Frances K. Smith
Of Buffalo Grove

Frances K. Smith (nee King) was born January 29, 1927 in Chicago. She died April 15, 2008 at her home.

During WWII she worked as a secretary on the Manhattan Project. For many years she worked at Red Oaks in Long Grove. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family at her cottage on Lac Courte Oreilles in Stone Lake Wisc.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 59 years James P. Smith; her children Michael (Rubye) Smith, Maureen (Thomas) Munz, Jamie (John Altom) Smith, Matthew (Debbie) Smith Timothy (Julie) Smith and Deneen (Frank Calzavara) Smith; her grandchildren Kara, Luke, Clay, Kasey, Margot, Charlie, Shannon and Blake Smith, Chris, Elizabeth and Erin Munz, Emma, Sophie, Justin and Randi Calzavara.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dorothy King Culver and Mary King Roberts.

Visitation from until 3-9 PM, Thursday April 17, 2008, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Friday April 18, 2008, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Mary Catholic Church 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10 AM. Interment Private.
