Denise Edwards
Of Buffalo Grove

Denise Edwards was born March 11, 1934 in Chicago to James and Margaret (nee Newell) Stanton. She died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

After graduating from Mundelein College in 1956 with degrees in Education and Psychology, Mrs. Edwards taught kindergarten for Chicago Public Schools until 1960. From 1973 to 1980 she was a substitute teacher for Wheeling/Buffalo Grove School District #21 and St. Mary School. Following that she was employed with the State of Illinois Student Loans until 1989. From 1990 until retiring in 2000 Denise returned to Chicago Public Schools where she taught elementary grades 3-6.

Her survivors include her children Robert (Dawn) Edwards of Aurora, Mary (Gary Canivez) Edwards of Champaign, James (Nancy) Edwards of Hoffman Estates, Kathy (Bob) Juliussen of Wheeling and Suzanne (Donald) Hennessy of Morton Grove; and her grandchildren Patrick, Dana, Sean, Juliana, Caitlyn Edwards, Liam and Meaghan Hennessy and Kevin Juliussen.

Denise is preceded in death by her husband Robert Louis Edwards, Jr., her parents and eight siblings.

Visitation from 3:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:00 AM, Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Mary Catholic Church 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
