Elizabeth “Betsy” Ross
Of Buffalo Grove

Elizabeth “Betsy” Ross was born January 27, 1924 to John and Christina (nee Russell) Withers in Motherwell, Scotland. She died March 30, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Survivors include her children Donald (Helen) Ross of Arlington Heights and John (Sondra) Ross of Buffalo Grove; her grandchildren Andrew, Allison, Nathan and Christina Ross; and her nieces Christine Mathie and Anne Brown.

Betsy is preceded in death by her husband, the late George W. Ross, whom she married September 12, 1947 in Motherwell, Scotland; her sister Helen (George) Cowan and her parents.

Visitation 3-9 PM, Wednesday April 2, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 11 AM, Thursday April 3, 2008 at The Hippach Chapel at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oak Brooke Terrace, IL.
