Gilbert G. Mirs
Of Arlington Heights

Gilbert G. Mirs was born August 16, 1910 in Little Falls, MN to Otto and Hulda (nee Landmeier) Mirs. He died April 17, 2007 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights.

Mr. Mirs was a machinist employed with Set screw Products for over 30 years, before retiring in 1975. He had an interest in genealogy and Arlington Heights history. Gilbert was an active member of St. John United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his sister Gladys Wente; his sisters-in-law Louise Mirs and Wally Specht, his brother-in-law Alvin Haas; his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and his many friends.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife Sophie B. (nee Mukahirn), his parents and his siblings.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights with 7:30 PM Prayer followed by a musical remembrance from the Sweet Adeline’s. Lie in State from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service, 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2007 at St. John United Church of Christ, 308 N. Evergreen St., Arlington Heights. Interment St. Mary Church Cemetery, Buffalo Grove, Illinois
