Helen McAllister

Helen McAllister was born on June 23, 1915 in Oak Park to William and Rose (nee McCluskey) Dwyer. She died on Friday, April 06, 2007 in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. McAllister was a philanthropist and volunteer for the developmentally disabled. She and her husband established the first residential home for Clearbrook Center. They also endowed an infirmary for the developmentally disabled men at Good Shepherd Manor in Momence.

Helen is survived by her cousin, Catharine Holmes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William J. McAllister, whom she married on December 30, 1939 in Oak Park; her brother, William; and her parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Good Shepherd Manor, P.O. Box 260 Momence, IL 60954.
