Catherine L. Sabay
Of Arlington Heights

Catherine L. Sabay was born November 18, 1911 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Martin and Tillie (nee Walaszek) Kaplan. She died April 17, 2006 at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling.

Mrs. Sabay worked as a store room clerk at Marshall Field's in Chicago for over 25 years before retiring. She volunteered at the Lutheran Home and Services, Misericordia, Sisters of the Living Word and the Mental Health Center in Dixon. Catherine participated at the Arlington Heights Senior Center Arts and Crafts, the Piotrowski Park Seniors and the Rosary Guild at St. James Church.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Stanley) Szott and Lorraine Kujawa; her grandchildren, Mary (John) McNamara, David (Patty) Szott, Anne (Bill) Kragh, Debbie Szott; John Kujawa, and Monica Rivera; 15 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and her brother Frank Kaplan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her grandson, Andrew Szott; her siblings Stella, Esther, Joseph, Edward, Louis, Walter and Casimir.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Thursday April 20, 2006 , at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Friday, April 21, 2006, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Entombment service 2:00 PM Friday at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Hillside
