Edton Yung Yee
Of Arlington Heights

Edton "Ed" Yung Yee, a 41-year resident of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 15, 2006 from complications of a stroke at Ballard Healthcare Residence in Des Plaines.

He was born April 1, 1925 in Toisan, China to Yung Lui Fong and Kam Huen Chan and moved to the United States in 1937.

Ed served in the US Army during WWII. After WWII, he worked as a machinist at Ford Motor Co, Parker Hannifin and CAI during his career. He also owned Hong Kong Restaurant in Fox River Grove from 1968 to 1975. During his retirement, Mr. Yee worked at Poko Loko Day Care Center in Wheeling where he was fondly known as "Grandpa Ed." He was an avid horseracing fan and enjoyed attending the races at Arlington Park. He valued his family most and was highly devoted to them. His proudest achievement was raising seven wonderful daughters with his wife of 58 years, Wai Kwan, whom he married in Hong Kong on February 4, 1948.

He is survived by his wife Wai Kwan (nee Moy); daughters Maeme (Carl) Breihan, Ginnie (Dave) Stratton, Elaine (Wei-Guang) Chen, Eva (Jerry) Nappi, Mary (Lance) Latuszek, Anna (Chuck) Kraft and Suzie (Brian) Day; grandchildren Eric, Marc and Tara Breihan, Lia Stratton, Rebecca Chen, Stephanie and Anthony Nappi, Brandon, Maleah and Ryan Latuszek, John, Maddie, Caroline and Charlie Kraft, Kevin and Kyle Day; and great-granddaughter Riley Breihan.

Mr. Yee is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2006 and Funeral service 11:00 AM, Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
