Richard August Becker
Of Arlington Heights

Richard August Becker, a life-long resident of Arlington Heights was born February 6, 1934 in Arlington Heights, to Herman and Lillian (nee Hahnfeldt) Becker. He died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Arlington Living and Rehab Center in Long Grove.

Mr. Becker was employed with the Cook County Highway Department for 27 years before retiring in 1993 and also worked as a carpenter throughout his life. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

His survivors include his children Brian Richard (Irma) Becker of Clifton, Virginia and Richel "Shelly" Josephine (James) Weimer of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; his grandchildren Christopher and Melissa Becker and Jimmy Weimer; his sisters-in-law Jean and Anne Becker, his brother-in-law Francis Weber; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his sisters Mildred (Edward) Stromberg, Dorothy (Andrew) Mesko and Marion Weber and his brothers Herman, Wilbert (Loretta) and Ralph (Anne) Becker.

Funeral services 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Wednesday from 3:00 PM time of the Service. Internment private.
