LaVerne L. Stiert, a 48 year resident of Arlington Heights, was born December 16, 1936 in Chicago to Ralph and Louise (nee Tassaert) Wriska. She died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Stiert was a homemaker and salad bar manager in the produce department at the Dominick's Grocery Store in Rolling Meadows for 16 years before retiring in October 2004.

Her survivors include her husband of 48 years, Kenneth L. Stiert, whom she married June 14, 1958; her children David (Floriana) Stiert of Bovolone, Italy, Steven (Renee) Stiert of Albany, New York, Susan Wilson of Crystal Lake and Linda (Robert) Hartman of Elk Grove Village; her grandchildren Rebecca, Devin, Kyle, Sean, Sarah and Matthew; and her sister Fleurette (Lawrence) Workman.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
