Col. Erwin J. "Pat" Bruchman

Col. Erwin J. "Pat" Bruchman USMC Ret. 82, passed away on April 22, 2005 .


Chicago native, graduate of Schurz High School, 1941. Decorated Marine veteran of WWII - VMF 121 and Korea - VMF 312, he served a total of 32 years in the United States Marine Corps. Corsair fighter pilot, awarded 2 DFCs and numerous Air Medals. He served in the USMC Reserves at Glenview Naval Air Station.

 

He enjoyed sharing his military experiences and the history of WWII and Korea through making presentations at local high schools.

 

Beloved husband of 45 years to Joan (nee Wolter), loving father of Tracey(Brad) Wierman, Timothy Bruchman and Terrell (Sean) Barry; devoted grandfather ofJennifer (Jeremy) Green, Ashley and Emily Barry; proud great grandfather of Bryce Patrick Green. Pat loved fishing in Canada and was a lifelong avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.

 

Visitation Monday, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Committal prayers Tuesday, 12:00 noon at Fort Sheridan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center (312)942-4463.

Directions to Fort Sheridan Post Cemetery: 94 north to Half Day Rd. (Rt. 22) east to Skokie Hwy. (Rt. 41) North to Old Elm Rd. east to entrance to Fort Sheridan Once inside take first left and follow the road To the cemetery.
