Donald E. Chartrand
Of Arlington Heights for 54 years

Donald E. Chartrand was born November 8, 1917, to Joseph J. and Elyda V. (nee Robinson) Chartrand, in Ontonagon, Michigan. He died Thursday at Northwest Community Healthcare Center

Donald was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.

He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. Serving 5 years on battleships: USS Alabama, USS Washington, USS North Carolina. An avid golfer and charter member of the Golden Golfers. Donald was a member of the VFW # 981 and Carpenters Union #839.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Janet B. (nee Boulter) whom he married on June 10, 1950. Daughter: Cathy S. (James) Konczyk of Palatine. Grandchildren: James B., Julie A., and Jordan D. Konczyk. Nieces: Debra Ballard and Susan Swiegart. Nephew: James Chunn.

He is preceded in death by his brothers: James and Warren Chartrand. Sister: Dorothy Chunn and his parents

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Saturday from 3 PM until 8 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be private.
