Helen A. Rogers
Of Arlington Heights
Helen A. Rogers was born on August 18, 1918 in Albany, New York to
William and Mary Katherine (nee Manogue) Cashman. She died Friday, March
30, 2012 in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Rogers was a high school Math and Chemistry teacher in the state of
New York from 1940 to 1951 and a GED Instructor at Harper College. Helen
was a member of St. Edna Catholic Church, where she was also a member of
their Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph's home for the
elderly and an avid gardener. She was also a devoted mother and
grandmother.
Helen is survived by her spouse of 60 years, Henry N. Rogers; her
children, Mary (Roger) Deatherage, Henry C. Rogers, Ann (William)
Bransley, Thomas (Gwen) Rogers; her grandchildren, Henry E. Rogers,
Orquidea (Tony) Garcia, Emily Deatherage, Michael Deatherage, Alyssa
Bransley, and Colleen Bransley; and Orquidea Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mary
Katherine, William, Rita Cashman and Ann Fox.
Visitation from 3:30PM until 8PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Glueckert
Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. In
state from 9AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10AM, Wednesday, April 4,
2012 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd.,
Arlington Heights. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in
Palatine.
Memorials may be given to St. Edna's Women's Club, 2525 N. Arlington Hts
Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
