Kathleen T. DoMenico
Of Arlington Heights

Kathleen T. DoMenico was born June 12, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Walter and Irene (nee Tynan) Schafer.  She relocated from Ohio to the northwest suburbs of Chicago nearly thirty years ago.  She died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. DoMenico was a devoted and selfless mother and grandmother and will be remembered as being a gracious hostess, generous, kind, gentle, and uncommonly wise 

She is survived by her children, Theresa (Robert) Kostka of Arlington Heights, Henry John DoMenico, Jr. of New Jersey, and Mary Ann (Frank) Turk of Elmhurst;  her daughters-in-law, Kathi and Joanne DoMenico; her grandchildren, Gregory, Ashley, Nicholas, Michelle, Hank III (Jami), Karah, Charlie, Caitlin, Michael DoMenico, Joseph, Nina, Sam, and Frankie Turk, Katie and Tim Earle; her siblings, Vivienne (Robert) Lux, Rosemary Heydorn, Terry Schafer, and Maureen (Tim) Earle; her brother-in-law, Robert Pollack; and her many nieces, nephews and god-children. 

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Henry John DoMenico, Sr.; her son, Sam G. DoMenico, III; her siblings, James (Mary Kay) Schafer, and Molly Pollack; and her brother-in-law, Earl Heydorn. 

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights.  Prayers 9:15 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Mary Catholic Parish 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10:00 AM.  Interment at St. Mary Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Vanderbilt Endowment Research Fund, Vanderbilt  University Gift Processing, PMB 407727, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37240-772, gift to benefit the Department of Biostatistics.
