George Thomas Halm
Of Arlington Heights

George Thomas Halm was born on October 11, 1926 in Chicago to George Edward and Elsie (nee Fischer) Halm. He passed away on March 18, 2011 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Halm served in the U. S. Navy during World War ll. Before his retirement in 1989, he worked at Carlson Displays in Chicago. George loved his family, anything mechanical and coffee.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Virginia (nee Ronan), his children, Marianne (Phil) Siegel and Steve (Alison) Halm; his grandchildren, Will, Glenna, Chloe and Conor; his brothers, Robert and James Halm; and many nieces and nephews.

George is preceded in death by his siblings, Kathryn, Edward, John, Elsie, Fred and Colletta.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Misericordia Heart of Mercy, 6300 North Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660-1017.
