Helen R. Berg, nee Massey, was born and lived her childhood on the near West Side and resided as an adult in West Rogers Park, a proud Chicagoan. She passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Condell Hospital in Libertyville. Helen was married to Stanley W. Berg for 25 years until his death in 1973. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known to her grandchildren as “Nana”. She is survived by her three daughters, Vicki (Bill) Hudspeath, Patti (Bill) Goodman and Donna (Christopher) Jones; her grandchildren, Andrew, Kristin, Matthew and Connor; and her two nephews, Thomas (Elizabeth) Massey and Robert (Sue) Massey.

Helen dedicated her early years to her family and being involved as a Girl Scout leader and church member. Upon her husband Stanley’s untimely death at a young age, Helen became a business woman. Helen worked at many different positions for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for over 20 years. After retiring from the phone company, Helen continued her business career as a part-time sales associate at Carson Pirie Scott & Co. in Wilmette for nearly 10 years.

Helen will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her work ethic, her sense of humor and her love of family gatherings.

Visitation from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Saint Mary Catholic Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 531313, Henderson NV, 89053.
