Sonia J. “Sonny” Mahler
Of Buffalo Grove

Sonia J. “Sonny” Mahler was born January 11, 1926 in Evanston to Paul and Gertrude (nee Millstein) Kramer. She passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. Mahler; her children, Naomi Simon, Kenneth (Lisa) Simon, Gloria Mahler, Linda (Jon) Koester, Lawrence Jr. (Sonya) Mahler, and Laura Voss; her grandchildren, Joel, Brittany, Lorel, Lindsey, Tyler, and Ashley; her great-granddaughter, Brynn; her siblings, Buddy (Betty) Kramer, and Barbara (Jerry) Handler; and by her many friends.

Sonia is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment is at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
