Margaret A. Cant
Of Arlington Heights

Margaret Acacia Cant was born on November 11, 1914 in Kirksville, MO to Dr. Clarence Wesley and Clare (nee Zimmerman) Snyder. She passed away on February 6, 2011 in Arlington Heights.

Margaret grew up in Oakland, IL. She married Dr. John “Jack” Cant on August 3, 1940 and after his return from WWII they resided in Park Ridge. She was a member of the Park Ridge Community Church. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University and taught first grade for several years, until her children were born. Margaret belonged to local PEO group, loved to playing bridge and golf, arranging flowers, working on crossword puzzles and “collecting” puns. She and Jack travelled extensively before his final illness. Her family has been her greatest source of pride and joy. In return, she gave them much love, many laughs and the benefit of her wisdom.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Lutheran Home & Service, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Eastern Illinois University, David Glenn Coon Scholarship Trust, 600 Lincoln Ave., Charleston, IL 61920 or to a favorite charity. Arrangements by Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., Arlington Heights.
