Margie M. Torretto

Margie M. Torretto was born on August 2, 1921 in Springfield to Harold and Bertie (nee Armstrong) Young. She passed away on March 7, 2010 in Arlington Heights.

Margie was a resident of Arlington Heights since 1954 where she was an active member of St. James Parish. She was an advocate for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and a resident of Luther Village community since 2000. Her passions included music, movies, dancing, cooking, traveling, cards, bingo and bowling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend. She never knew a stranger.

She is survived by her daughters, Paulette M. Torretto of Columbia, TN, Monica K. Torretto of Arlington Heights and Lisa T. (Mark) Albertson of Carmel, IN; her grandchildren, Gregory H. and Gary T. (Tammy) Greksa, Gianna M. (Bjorn) Kunz, Creighton, Stephanie and Natalie Shook and Mackenzie and Haley Albertson; her great-grandchildren, Alexx, Sydney, Andie and Riley Kunz, Bailey Greksa and Cole and Paige Cheek.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John T. Torretto and her three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 11:15 AM Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
