Kathryn J. Shaughnessy was born December 14, 1926 in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania to Michael Jerome and Helene Kathryn (nee Hendler) McDonough. She died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at her home.

Mrs. Shaughnessy was a homemaker. She was a former volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital and played golf with the St. James Women’s League.

Her survivors include her children Maureen (John) Crump, Patrice (Anthony) Savino, Michael (Teri) Shaughnessy, Matthew (Lori) Shaughnessy, and Kathryn (Tom) Muno; her grandchildren Anthony, Angelo, Christina and Mario Savino, Thomas and William Muno, McDonough and Schaefer Shaughnessy, Kathleen and Jack Shaughnessy; and her sisters Rosemary Ann Bogdan, Helene Anna Prevosti and Jeanne Marie Southworth.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband Carroll “Mike” Shaughnessy, and her parents.

Visitation 3:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Funeral Mass 10:00 AM, at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Burial at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
