James Frederick Otis
Of Arlington Heights

James Frederick Otis was born August 2, 1933 in Chicago to Lloyd and Charlotte (nee Zilz) Otis. He died March 14, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Otis was active in the Civil War Preservation Trust, the Illinois Route 66 Association, the Milwaukee Road Historical Association, the Illinois Viper Club, the Fox Valley Division of the MRHA, the Chicagoland Garden Railroad Society and the Faith Lutheran Church Men’s Club.

Survivors Include his wife Judith (nee Peterson), whom he married August 1, 1992; his children Priscilla (Steve) Callans, John (Kim) Otis; step children Perry (Jennifer) Peterson and Pamela (John) Hemze; his grandchildren Jonathon and Nicole Glueckert, Amanda, Heather and Casey Callans, Zachary and Madelyn Otis, Kendall Peterson and Ashley and Collin Hemze; his siblings June ( late Bill) Schmidt and Jeanne (David) Payne; and his former son in law Bob Glueckert.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Jacqueline and his sister Janice Okeson.

Visitation Monday March 17, 2008 from 3 until 9 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral Service , 11 AM, Tuesday March 18, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Rd., lie in state at church from 10 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
