Catherine Julia Provost, nee Ryan, just shy of her 90th birthday, beloved wife of Leo H. Provost for 62 years; loving mother of Marybeth (Ron) Saari, Livermore, CA; Catherine (James) Liggett, Lake Forest, IL; Margaret (Charles Fyfe) Oak Park, IL; Patricia Kosinski, Oak Park, IL; Henry, Denver, CO; Edward (Judy) Evanston, IL; William (Susan) Frankfort, IL; Julie, Prairie du Sac, WI; Ginger, Anchorage, AK; Joseph (Lynn) Buffalo Grove, IL; Barbara (Daniel Nielsen) Grayslake, IL; John, Las Vegas, NV; Peter (Adrienne) Palatine, IL; cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Michael Macadaan), Shawna and Scott Saari; James (fiancée Karen DeBeer) and Matthew Liggett; Joseph (Kristin), Catherine (Jeff Gilfillan), Lindsey and Jeffrey (Dana) Kosinski; Leah and Lindsay Jaglarski; Kenneth and Jamie Kulovany; Edward and Margaret Nielsen; Timothy, Kathleen, Kelsey, Kevin, Natalie, Kyle, Quinn, Nicole, Megan, William., Daniel, Emma Rose, Stephen, Katelin, Christopher, Elizabeth, Patrick and Caroline Provost; dear great-grandmother of Brandon, Nicholas, Jake, Luke, Franklin and Joel; fond cousin of Olive Mansur Blake; beloved aunt of Kathleen, Kelly, Mary, Patrick, Sheila and Becky Ryan.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Leontine Mansur Ryan and two siblings, Elizabeth and William Ryan.

Catherine was born on June 11, 1918, in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy and Marquette University, class of 1940. (At each reunion she won a prize for having produced the most children.) She was a USO director in Wendover, Utah, where she met her husband, and they were married on October 8, 1945. Catherine was a devout Roman Catholic who had a lifelong devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Visitation from 3:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2008 at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights. Burial at St. Peter Cemetery, Skokie.
