Jerome E. Farrell, Sr.

Jerome E. Farrell, Sr. was born on July 29, 1939 in Waukegan to John Albert Farrell and Jean Evelyn (nee Alderin) Farrell-Garretson. He passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at his home, following a valiant battle with cancer.

Mr. Farrell lived in the area his entire life. He was a graduate of WTHS, Class of 1957, and the Dale Carnegie School of Business. Jerome owned his own financial business for 25 years. His passions were his family, golf, tennis, shooting pool and vacationing in Jamaica.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Velma (nee Johnson); his children, Ginger (Tom) Annett of Barrington, John (Julia) Farrell of Silverton, OR, Jerome (Sheryl) Farrell, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Philip Farrell of Chicago, Sean (Varinia) Farrell of Elgin and Heather (Ryan) Ticknell of Palatine; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Janice (Tom Donohue) Schroeder of Waukegan; a niece, Jean H. Schroeder of Rockford; nephew, Charles J. (Veronica) Schroeder, III of Chicago; and his faithful Cocker Spaniel, Morgan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, George L. Garretson; and his brother-in-law, Charles J. Schroeder, Jr.


Visitation 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (four blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10:00 AM, Monday, April 2, 2007, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
