William Peter Caputo
Of Arlington Heights
William Peter Caputo was born on July 1, 1951 in Chicago to Otto S. and Elizabeth R. (nee Simonetti) Caputo. He died Thursday, March 22, 2007 in St. Thomas, USVI.
Mr. Caputo graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1972. He received a Master’s Degree in 1974 , a certificate of advanced studies in 1975, and a Doctorate of Education in 1977. He taught for 9 years.
William was the current School Board president of District #23 where he has been a board member for 20 years. He was a member of the Illinois Association of School Boards and was awarded the level of Master Board Member for his involvement.
In 1982, he graduated with honors from DePaul University College of Law. His Career as an Attorney spanned 25 years. He was a highly-regarded Chicago litigation attorney handling large and complex commercial cases and defending physicians, hospitals and Plaintiffs in medical malpractice actions. In 1992 he joined and became a named partner in the Chicago firm of Nilson, Stookal, Gleason & Caputo, Ltd. He was a member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations, and a member of the Illinois and American Trial Lawyers Associations. He belonged to the Justinian society and had received the Highest Legal Ability Rating available (AV) from his peers.
William is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Glaser) Caputo, married August 29, 1980; his children Jennifer, 25, William, 22, Brian, 22, and Nicholas, 13; his parents; his brothers Paul V. (Cindy) and Thomas A. (Vivian); his Godchildren Frank J, Jr., Paul V., Jr. and Kathryn N.
He is preceded in death by his brother Frank J. Jr.
Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 29, 2007 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
