William Eugene "Bill" Heller
Of Arlington Heights

William Eugene "Bill" Heller was born October 16, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois to Robert Lewis and Virginia Vaughan (nee Keeney) Heller. He died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Heller was President and CEO of Heller Lumber Co., Inc. in Arlington Heights where he has worked since 1968. He was a board member of the Indiana Lumberman's Insurance Co.

A devoted father and loving husband and son, Bill was an avid tennis player, skier and tri-athlete. He served on the board of trustees at First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, and served on the board of the United Way in Arlington Heights. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Iowa State University; an Eagle Scout participated in Trailmates, Indian Princess and Indian Guides.

Bill's survivors include his wife of 28 years, Winifred Jane "Wink" nee Haskell, whom he married June 18, 1977; his daughter Jane Virginia (fiancé David James Canavan) Heller of Chicago and Robert McClellan Heller of Arlington Heights; his parents Robert and Virginia of Inverness; his sisters Kathryn (Stephen) Pollard of Arlington Heights, Ann Heller of Carlsbad, Calif. and brother John Heller of Savanna, Ill.; his father-in-law Mac (Ila) Haskell and his brother-in-law Thomas (Sharon) Haskell and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law Jane Haskell.

Memorial service 2:00 PM, Monday, April 3, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.

Memorial visitation from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.
