Albert L. Eischen

 

Albert L. Eischen was born July 5, 1934 in Evanston, he died March 11 in Arlington Heights.

After attending DePaul Academy and the University of Illinois, Al enjoyed a career in Mechanical engineering, earning several patents and designing the Museum of Science and Industry's energy exhibit. He retired in 1999 from Life Fitness.

Al's passions included politics, world travel, landscaping, ballroom dance and Christmas decorating. He was involved with the American Friends of Austria, the Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Knights of Columbus.


His time with family, especially his grandchildren, was always cherished.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louise (nee Schultz), sons, Wayne (Kim), Robert and Kurt (Diane), his daughter, Lisa (Mark) Brooks, his grandchildren, Trevor, Cassie, Cori, Nick, Erik and Kayla, Katie and Caroline, his sister, Mary Lou Quinn and his brother, Jerome (Beverly) Eischen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert F. and Theresa (nee Pinnel) Eischen.

Visitation from 3 until 9 PM Wednesday, March 15 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Thursday March 16 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9 AM until 10 AM, Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
