Ruthmary Crawford
52 year resident of Arlington Heights
Ruthmary Crawford was born November 28, 1920 in Wenona, Illinois to
Ralph John and Amy Julia (nee Burgess) Heffernan. She died Sunday,
February 27, 2005 at her home in Luther Village.
Mrs. Crawford was very active in community programs, including Girl
Scouts, serving as President of the Northwest Cook County Girl Scout
Council. She was employed as Director of Volunteers at Northwest
Community Hospital for 15 years with over 4,000 hours of service and
served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of First
Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, Salt Creek Questers, Arlington
Heights Woman's Club and had been active in many programs in the
Scarsdale neighborhood of Arlington Heights and at Luther Village and
was an avid Bridge player
Ruthmary was the beloved wife of the late John Crawford; mother of Janet
(Dick) Telvick, of Madison, WI, Susie (Terry) Layton, of Long Grove,
Nancy Crawford, of Chicago and Linda (Kirk) Schneider, of Crystal Lake;
cherished grandmother of Marcene (Brian) McDonnell, Amy (Mark) Smolak,
Ty (Buffy) Layton, Bree Ankowicz, David Ankowicz, Halen (Krista) Parisi,
Kelly (Shaun) White, Holly Parisi, Maggie and Julia Schneider. She is
also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters
Anne (Bob) Spierling, Katie Rust and Patti (Frank) DeShepper and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00, Wednesday, March 2, 2005
at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4
blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment will be
private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American
Heart Assn., Memorial & Tributes Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle,
