Richard Stengren
Formerly of Addison

Richard Stengren, 81, recently of Arlington Heights was born on June 14, 1931 in Chicago to Bonde and Nellie (nee Maday) Stengren. He died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Lutheran Home & Services in Arlington Heights.

Before retiring, Mr. Stengren worked as a plant manager for Farley Candy Co. and Kimball Candy Co. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Portage Park, Chicago and a former coach and umpire for the Addison Park District. Richard successfully completed seven Chicago marathon events and was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gilda (nee Carlisi) Stengren; his children, Thomas (Susan) Stengren, and Debra (Joseph) Ciosek; his grandchildren, Ryan (Kara) and Andrew Stengren, and Samantha and Hayley Ciosek; his great-grandchildren, Reese and Peyton Stengren; and his brother, Bonde (Mary Jane) Stengren, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service and interment are private.
