Alpha Bondy
Of Huntley
Alpha Mae Bondy, 83, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at the
Ballard Health Care Residence in Des Plaines, IL. She was born December
1, 1928, on a farm near Bogue, KS, to Frank and Ellen Holsman.
She graduated from Stockton High School, Stockton, KS in 1946 and
attended Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, KS. She worked in
Denver, CO where she met and married Donald J. Bondy when Don was in the
U.S. Army and attending Denver University. From Denver they moved to
Sturgis, MI, Holland MI, and LaGrange, IL, making their home in
Arlington Heights, IL, for many years. Alpha worked in Arlington Heights
and served as President of the Arlington Heights American Legion
Auxiliary. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Tom) Rose, of Lafayette, IN; her
grandson, Michael Simpson of Lafayette, IN; her sister, Carol (Gene)
Hotz, of Hays, KS; sister-in-law, Bobbie Holsman of Bogue, KS; two
nieces, Susan Kreutzer of Hays, KS; and Annette Wetter of Colby, KS;
three nephews, Steven Hotz of Liberty, MO; Frank Holsman and David
Holsman, Bogue, KS; two great-nieces, Olivia Wetter and Abbey Wetter, of
Colby, KS; one great-niece, Emily Kreutzer, of Hays, KS; two
great-nephews, Hayden Kreutzer and Collyn Kreutzer, of Hays, KS; and
one-great nephew, Jacob Wetter, of Colby, KS, as well as numerous
cousins and other relatives.
Alpha was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one
brother, Kenneth Holsman.
Interment took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL.
Private services will be held at a later date.
