Richard “Rick” D. Hathaway
Of Arlington Heights

Richard “Rick” D. Hathaway was born on September 8, 1951 in Chicago, IL to George and Dolores (nee Kallenbach) Hathaway. He was called home to heaven February 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with lung/liver cancer.

Rick was a devoted son to his parents, a loving husband to Judy, a protective big brother to his sisters, and a doting grandfather to Sierra and Savannah. He cherished all the great times he spent with family and friends, especially the past 30 years boating and fishing on Lake of the Ozarks and he enjoyed numerous trips to Las Vegas. He liked fast cars, rock and roll music, and the latest in electronic technology. Rick was a highly respected and dedicated Project Management Leader for Honeywell, Inc., employed for 38 years, his first and only employer since graduating from Bradley University in 1973.

Rick is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy (nee Klepac) Hathaway, whom he married October 4, 1980; his parents; his sisters, Nancy (Duke) Fisher-Kubkowski, Mary (Joe) Heinrich, Judy (Rowland) Bond, and Karen (Don) Norman; his step-children, Rob Loving and Nancy (Phil) Moss; his grandchildren, Sierra Moss and Savannah Moss; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and countless good and faithful friends and co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dennis Fisher, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation from 3PM until 9PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Prayers at 10:15AM, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the funeral home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00AM. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
