Dorothy Behrens
Of Arlington Heights

Dorothy Behrens was born on September 1, 1913 in New York, NY to William and Anna (nee Olsen) Koenig. She passed away on February 22, 2011 in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Behrens worked as an operator for New York Telephone Company from 1923 to 1934. She also worked in retail sales from 1965 to 1975. She was active in her church by teaching Sunday school and being involved in the music ministry.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Peter J. (Renae) Behrens of Bethlehem, PA and Elizabeth A. (Rick) Steffen of Arlington Heights; her grandchildren, Stephen, Thomas, Laura, Amy and Ruth; and her great-grandchildren, Kristen, Leah, Nicholas, Jacob, Allison, Joshua, Jonathan and Alexis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Behrens; her brother, John Kappstatter; and her sister, Frances Hopke.

Memorial visitation Friday, February 25, 2011 from 9:30 AM until the time of memorial services at 11:00 AM at Lutheran Home & Service for the Aged, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights. Burial will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Assn. of Greater Chicago, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631.
