Lawrence John Gorey, age 75, of Arlington Heights, and formerly Chicago, passed away peacefully February 20, 2011.

Dearly beloved husband of Patricia Gorey for 53 wonderful years; loving father of Julie (Joel) Farris, Michael (Barbara) Gorey, Lawrence (Rochelle) Gorey and the late Susan Fredericks; father in law of John (Mariette) Fredericks; dearest grandfather of Bryan, Kevin, Margaret, John, Michael, Elizabeth, Daniel, Katherine, Claire and Audrey; brother of Mary Rita(Blas) Olivares and Patricia (Jim) Drozd; generous uncle of many nieces and nephews, friend and mentor to many.

He was a graduate of Leo High School and Loyola University. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and accomplished human resources professional whose career included Coca Cola, SK Tools, and the Pampered Chef where he retired from as Vice President of Human Resources. A natural born teacher, talented photographer, and generous spirit whose touch will be felt in the lessons and photographs that he left behind.

Visitation from 3 until 9 p.m, Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Height and from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 , at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N.
