Vito A. Rubino
Of Arlington Heights
Vito A. Rubino was born May 14, 1918 in Chicago to Vincent and Pauline
(nee DeGennaro) Rubino. He died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at
Lexington of Wheeling.
Mr. Rubino served in the Army during WWII, and worked as a pressman in
the printing industry. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion
and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marie A. (nee Formento) Rubino
whom he married December 5, 1992; his stepson, Ralph (Darlene) Militello;
his daughter-in-law, Jeri Rubino; his grandchildren, Barbara (Adam)
Gulin and Trisha (Michael) Hall and step-grandchildren, Anthony
(Heather) and Michael (Tonya) Militello; his great-grandchildren, Alex
and Danielle Gulin, Rebekah and Rachael Hall, and step
great-grandchildren, James, Catherine, and Deborah Militello; his
sister-in-law, Gilda Rubino; his siblings, Ann Marie (John) Hochbaum and
Nicholas (Trudy) Rubino; and his many nieces and nephews.
Vito was preceded in death by his son, Vincent “Jim” Rubino; and his
parents; and his brother Vincent Rubino.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, February 18, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Saturday, February 19, 2011
at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington
Heights from 11:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM. Entombment
is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
