C. Hemmer
Of Wheeling
Richard C. Hemmer was born January 24, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to
Clement and Helen (nee Voirol) Hemmer. He died on Wednesday, February
16, 2011 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
Mr. Hemmer worked six years at Philco Ford as a contractor to the State
Department during the Vietnam War; he worked in the travel industry in
Bangkok, Thailand, and worked 25 years with Motorola installing cellular
communications systems.
He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Stavros) Hemmer; and his
Godchildren, Matthew and Mark Gordon, Matthew and Brian Townsend, and
Lindsey Rae Mills; nieces, Jennifer and Cassandra; and nephews, Jason,
Ernest, Brian, and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and Winifred Voirol, his
beloved aunt who raised him.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, February 21, 2011 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks
south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Tuesday, February 22, 2011
at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington
Heights from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment
is at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Buffalo Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Edna
Outreach Program, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL
