Ellen E. Mirr, 64, died of cancer on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Ellen taught in Districts 59 and 214; worked as a freelance photographer; was a textbook editor for Laidlaw; and served as a trainer for the American Heart Association. Her career continued as a technical communications specialist for Telemedia, Inc. and Reed & Associates, Ltd.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Susan (Gerry) Brummer, Mary (Ted) Cayford, Margaret Mirr, Joseph (Judy) Mirr, Amanda Mirr, Michael Mirr, and Jennifer (Greg) Polzin.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of Memorial Service 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers, Ellen requested memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
