Joyce T. Walons, 83, of Arlington Heights, beloved wife of the late Richard A. Walons; loving mother of Laurie Walons (Scott) Rahn; loved grandmother of Grant Richard Rahn and Spencer William Rahn; and devoted sister of Donald Treleaven.

Joyce was raised in Oak Park, graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School, and attended Monmouth College, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Joyce was quiet, unpretentious, perfectionistic and stubbornly independent, with a penchant for word puzzles, reading, needlework, bridge and Chicago Cubs baseball. She will be missed by family and friends.

Memorial visitation at 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the chapel at Lutheran Home, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights. Interment private.
