Ashley Catherine Serola

Ashley Catherine Serola was born January 1, 1986 in Park Ridge to John and Mary Angela (nee Miller) Serola. She died on Friday, February 26, 2010 in Arlington Heights.

Ashley loved animals. She was a skilled equestrian, and she enjoyed volunteering for Almost Home Animal Rescue. She was a graduate of Hersey High School. During high school, she went to the Dominican Republic with The New Horizons Youth Ministry, and she was active with the youth group at Harvest Bible Church. From 2003 to 2007 she lived in London where she was a Nanny and attended Richmond/The American International University where she studied psychology. She was a 2008 graduate of Roosevelt University achieving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Currently, she was a graduate student at Argosy University. She was a member of the Psi Chi National Fraternal Organization of Psychology.

She is survived by her parents; her brother, Jacob Serola; her half-sister Heather Hawkins; her aunts, Cathy Serola Davit and Patricia Miller Groberski; her niece Amanda Hawkins; her nephew, Brandon Fowler; and her many cousins and dear friends.

Ashley is preceded in death by her grandparents, John J. Sr. and Rosmary (nee Gifford) Serola and Iva and Catherine (nee Gray) Miller.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday March 3 at the Harvest Bible Chapel, 800 Rohlwing Rd., Rolling Meadows. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Almost Home Animal Rescue or the New Horizons Youth Ministry, 1002 South 350 East, Marion, Indiana 46953.
