Verness is survived by her children; Leo Jr. (Linda) Sances, Susan (Paul Sanders) Sances, Jim (Kathleen S.) Sances, John (Beth) Sances and Kathleen (Kevin Machalek) Sances; loved grandmother of Leo III, Julie Kellenberger, Sarah, Lauren, John, Kathleen, John Machalek and Lily Machalek; dear great-grandmother of four.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Sances,
