Of Arlington Heights
Marie Claude “Mimi” Cooney was born January 25, 1926 to Bernard and Andree (Dupuis) Lacassagne in Nancy, France. She died February 8, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Cooney worked as a clinical nurse at Stanford Clinic in Palo Alto, CA and an ESL teacher at Harper College for 20 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the St. Thomas of Villanova choir.
Mimi is survived by her children, Christopher Cooney of Arlington Heights and Jennifer (Adrian) Vulpas of Shorewood, WI; her grandchildren, Annie, Susie and Lisa; and her siblings, Dominique Troubat and Henri Lacassagne.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Cooney; her siblings Jean Marie Lacassagne and Elisabeth Cayeux; and her parents.
Memorial Mass 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 Anderson (Anderson & Williams), Palatine. Interment Private.
