Of Arlington Heights
Judith Gastfield was born on September 26, 1938 to Henry W. and Celia J. (nee Bunn) Laseke in Libertyville, IL. She died February 3, 2010 at her residence in Arlington Heights after a courageous battle with cancer.
During her career, Judith was a Registered Nurse. She worked as a critical care nurse for 32 years at Northwest Community Hospital until her retirement. She was known for her love of her family and her grandchildren. Going to her granddaughter’s soccer games, softball games, bowling matches and cross country meets gave her endless joy. She loved horses and riding in horse shows before her children were born and she loved watching her son play soccer and watching NASCAR events.
Judith is survived by her children, Michael (Lyudmila) Gastfield of Baltimore, MD and Greg (Cathy) Gastfield of Arlington Heights; her brother, Henry E. Laseke, her grandchildren, Christina, Caitlyn, Alexander, Edward and her nephew Derek Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore L. Gastfield, her sister, Shirlee (Robert) Service and her neice Debra Schneider.
Visitation Friday, February 5, 2010 from3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service10:00 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment at Randhill Park Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to:: St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 w. Olive St., Arlington Heights.
