Edward A. Kooi

Edward A. Kooi was born on February 23, 1932 in Oak Park to Harold and Lillian (nee Szymanski) Kooi. He passed away on February 1, 2009 in Arlington Heights.

Ed was a veteran of the Army. He enjoyed gardening and loved to go boating in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcella (nee Kotlinski); his children, John (Emily McMullen) Kooi of North Chelmsford, MA and Mary-Frances Kooi of Summit, NJ; his grandchildren, Rachael, Sarah and Leann Kooi; his daughter-in-law, Janeen Kooi; and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Kotlinski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Martin E. Kooi.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:45 AM, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
