George Luna Medina

George Luna Medina was born
on May 1, 1931 in Vera Cruz,
Mexico to Jose Medina and
Louisa Luna. He passed away
February 24, 2008 in De
Plaines.
Although his family was poor
during his childhood and he
received little formal
education, George had a
strong work ethic and
passion for life, which
served him well when he
immigrated to the United
States as a young man. He
met his wife in Chicago and
they began a family under
meager circumstances.
Through time, great effort
and perseverance he learned
a whole new culture and how
to thrive in it. He loved
this country and held fond
memories of the old one. He
enjoyed fishing and good
food and will always be
remembered for the real life
stories he told.
He is survived by his former
spouse Rose Medina,
daughters, Georgette (Glen)
Steinberg of Prospect
Heights, Nancy (Keith) Lunn
of Fairview, MI and Diane
(Mark) Carnes of Mikado, MI,
his grandchildren , Ashley,
Larissa and Clifford
Steinberg, Arthur Medina,
Aaron Medina and Jill
Medina, his great
grandchildren Mia Medina,
Trinity Betten, Autumn
Betten, Bella Harden, Emily
Conley and Mercedes Medina,
his sister, Gloria Luna
Medina and his brother, Raul
Luna Medina.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and his brother,
Henry Luna Medina.
Visitation 3:00 PM to
9:00 PM Tuesday, February
26, 2008 at the Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
Arlington Heights Road, (4
blocks south of Palatine
Road) Arlington Heights.
