Emily I. (nee Steinke) Kapchinski was born August 24, 1914, to Frederick and Helen (nee Froehlich) Steinke in Chicago. She died February 25, 2008 at Northern Illinois Medical Center.

Emily loved to read and play cards.

Emily is the loving mother of Barbara Petersen and Martin (Marsha) Kapchinski; Loved grandmother of Scott (Stephanie) Kapchinski, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Petersen, Alisa Kapchinski, Dawn (John) Fry, Diana (Frank) Ferraco, Raymond Petersen Jr., Jennifer Failla and great-grandmother of Nicole Fry, Shannon Fry, Brandon Petersen, Frankie Ferraco. Andrew Kapchinski, Dannille Fry, Isaac Petersen and Anika Petersen; Beloved sister of Ethel (William) Herzog.

Emily is preceded in death by her beloved husband Alfred Kapchinski; her siblings Arthur (Ethel) Steinke, Alice (Claude) Stalcup, Lillian (Luis) Sorensen, Trudy (Carl) Bauschke; and by her parents.

Visitation Wednesday February 27, 2008 from 4 until 8 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10 AM, Thursday February 28, 2008, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
