James J. Charleston
Formerly of Arlington Heights

James J. Charleston was born on February 2, 1925 in Franklin Park to Joseph and Harriet (nee Egan) Charleston. He passed away on February 5, 2008 in Hawthorn Woods.

James was a 61 year member of the Franklin Park American Legion Post 974 where he was past District Commander. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War.

He is survived by his children, James M Charleston and Jean M. (Darryl) Taggart, his grandchildren, Scott and Sean Taggart and Tara Charleston, his great granddaughter, Kadence Charleston, his brother William Charleston and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Lou (nee Fenlon) and his sister, Mildred Malamazian.

Visitation 3-9 PM Friday at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
