Nancy Onnen
Of Arlington Heights

Nancy Onnen was born on August 11, 1933 in Harlan, Iowa to Russell F. and Aasta (nee Boysen) Swift. She passed away on February 22, 2007 in Arlington Heights.

Nancy met her husband at Drake University in Des Moines where she graduated in 1955. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Mrs, Onnen was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. She served as chairman of the altar guild and taught Sunday school. She was an active member in Care Ministry and also volunteered at Manor Care in Arlington Heights.

Nancy was a member of P.E.O. Chapter IV, Eli Skinner Chapter of D.A.R. and Ginger Creek Questers.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, whom she married on June 15, 1956, her children, Elizabeth (Scott) Baumann of Grand Rapids, Mich. And John (Vicki) Onnen of Arlington Heights, her grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Baumann and Samantha and Amanda Onnen, her brother, Freeman Swift of Des Moines, Iowa, and her sister, Cynthia (William) Murphy of Okoboji, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Russell A. Swift, her son, Russell R. Onnen and her grandson, Jonathan R. Onnen.

Visitation Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Rd., where she will lie in state from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment Memory Gardens.
