Melvin L. Kehe
Lifelong resident of Arlington Heights

Private services were held for Melvin L. Kehe, age 88 at Glueckert Funeral Home on Monday, February 19, followed by burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born on February 5, 1919 in Arlington Heights, he died on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at home. Mr. Kehe was President and General Manager of Arlington Concrete Products until it’s closing in 1977. He retired from Kehe Food Distributors in 1986. A veteran of World War II, Melvin was drafted into the Army in March 1941 and discharged as a first lieutenant in February 1946. It was in May of 1943 that he and Virginia Taege were married in a military wedding at old St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. He served in Europe through five battles including the Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Bulge.

Survivors include his son, Jack and partner Jonathan French; his loving friend and caregiver, Teresa Kielar; sister-in-law, Loraine (Ralph Kehe) and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin is preceded in death by Virginia his beloved wife of 62 years, his parents and five brothers and two sisters.
