John Stack
Of Arlington Heights

John Stack was born April 4, 1924 in Chicago to William Edward “Eddie” and Kathryn (nee Dwyer) Stack. He died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Stack was a retired pressman formerly employed by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Daily News, Chicago Sun Times and the Wall Street Journal. He served in WW II as an Air Force Pilot.

His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Catherine nee Houle, whom he married September 13, 1957; his children Patricia Rosen of Arlington Heights, Kathleen (John) Gaughan of River Forest, Mary Jo (Michael) Candioto of Lincolnwood, Edward (Janet) Stack of Arlington Heights and James (Karen) Stack of Highland, Ind.; his grandchildren Michael, Patrick, Katy, Mary Jean, Anne, John, David and Conor; his great grandson Spencer; his brother James (Kay) Stack; his sisters-in-law Pidge Stack, and Betty Lang; his brother-in-law Richard (Patricia) Houle and many nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Edward (Ruth) and Mick Stack; and his brothers-in-law Jerome (Lucille) Houle and Charles Lang.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Evanston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.
