Carl J. Koller
Of Arlington Heights

Carl J. Koller formerly of West Rogers Park, Chicago was born March 30, 1922 in Chicago to Charles J. and Magdalen G. (nee Rink) Koller. He died February 22, 2006 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in the presence of his children.

In his youth, Mr. Koller was an active participant in sports in the Neighborhood Boys Club in Chicago. He was a WW II veteran serving with Company B 409th Infantry, 103rd Division when he was taken as a prisoner of war in the former Czechoslovakia. After the war he received his B.S degree from DePaul University and worked for over 35 years with the G.D. Searle Company in Skokie. Carl was a former member of the St. Margaret Mary Men's Guild and a current member of the Des Plaines Elks Lodge #1526.

He was married to the late Rose Marie (nee Heiberger) Koller for 56 years. Carl is survived by his children, Robert J. (Stephanie) Koller of Arlington Heights, Gerard M. Koller of Elk Grove Village, and Monica M. (Alan) Rateike of Hanover Park; his grandchildren, Jeremy T. Koller and Lynette R. Koller and step grandchildren Kathrin (Michael) Moore and Tracy Rateike; sister Rita Sallans of Houston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM Monday, February, 27, 2006 from the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., proceeding to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Luther Village Spiritual Enrichment Foundation, 1250 Village Drive, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
