Beatrice F. Birginal
Longtime resident of Inverness
Beatrice F. Birginal was born December 26, 1911, in St. Louis to George
and Sarah (nee Murphy) Fisher. She passed away Monday, February 14, 2005
at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Terrie Birginal of
Hawthorn Woods.
Beatrice was a pioneer in the field of in-home sales. She co-founded
Beeline Fashions, later Beeline Inc., in 1945 with her late husband. She
played a pivotal role in the daily operations of the company as it grew
over the next 30 years to become a leading direct seller of women's
apparel. She served as Vice Chairman of the board at the time of her
retirement in 1984.
A longtime member of Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights,
Beatrice was an avid golfer and remained active throughout her life,
reading, spending time with family and friends, playing bridge,
traveling and taking aerobics classes. In the later years she pursued
philanthropic activities as President of the H. Edison Birginal
Foundation.
Beatrice is survived by her sons Gary (Terrie) and Kirk Birginal;
step-daughter Shirlee (Martin) Reff of Arizona; grandchildren Brooke,
Keith, Kelly, Molly, Sydnie Birginal, Kim (David) Rende, Candace (Lou)
Stodden, Richard (Nancy) Reff, Robert (Janet), Steven( Jill), Michael
(Kim), Mark (Audrey), Scott Reff, Sherri Benedict (nee Reff). She is
also survived by her great niece Dawn (Lex) Provenzano and great nephew
Scott Schultz.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, H. Edison Birginal, whom
she married March 20, 1942 in Arlington Heights; brother and
sister-in-law Richard and Alpha Fisher and niece Joyce Schultz.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at the Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of
Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Thursday from 4:00 PM until
9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Entombment will be at Memory
Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to: Hospice of
