Kenneth L. Stiert
Of Arlington Heights

Kenneth L. Stiert was born October 24, 1929 in Chicago to Frank and Mabel (Brust) Stiert.  He died January 16, 2014 at his home in Arlington Heights.

Ken was a former Army tank mechanic in the Korean war which lead to a career as an auto mechanic. He owned his own service stations and managed automotive service centers until he retired in 1994. Ken enjoyed fishing, wine making, and gardening.

Kenneth is survived by his children David (Floriana) Stiert of Bovolone, Italy, Steven Stiert of Albany, New York,  Susan Wilson of Holly Springs, NC and Linda (Robert) Hartman of Elk Grove Village; his grandchildren Rebecca, Devin, Kyle, Sean, Sarah and Matthew.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, LaVerne L. (nee Wriska) Stiert whom he married June 14, 1958; by his first wife Wanita (nee Seidal) and by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.  Funeral service 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the funeral home.  Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
